Farcaster is a opened social media opened protocol. Its users are used to a boring feed similar to Twitter, so we took the challenge to turn it vertical and fun, more TikTok-alike.

Farcaster is filled of blockchain builders, founders, artist, and enthusiasts. Talking with them, one common thought came out: “Social-Fi is boring”.


Taking to count the demography of Farcaster's users, mostly millennials rebel nerds living in the USA. We attempt to evoke strong feelings at the moment of trying a new app with a common concept: scroll for entertaining.

Hitting to the artistic domination in the crypto world, we set inspiration from a place where most of our audience knew their firsts favourite artist: a well-known old TV channel related to music. And with that idea, we created a similar brand identity: disruptive, wild, and a total party.


For the interface, we inspired mostly on old-school operative systems that our audience would remember. And refreshing it with brutalism layers, a graphic aesthetic we already had experience and affect.


Nevertheless, we faced some challenges. It was necessary to integrate the fun of a video-first app like TikTok, and the De-Fi features use for all crypto users, into a social network focused on desktop with lots of texts.


Those De-Fi features were not only a wallet with tokens, but a new trend within Farcaster called “Fan Tokens” where all creators now were assigned a token, a coin, and you could buy them.


So the bigger hurdles were being able to merge smoothly two totally different experiences within one single social app. But, finally, we made out a TikTok-like app with Live Streaming features and an internal crypto wallet capable to manage Fan Tokens and cryptocurrencies.


This project was made teaming up with A0x Company and Farcaster builders.
